one time at a memorial day picnic a few years ago we had a sprint to see who was the fastest. When I won the race among the SF bros Joe encouraged me by saying "Andale Speedy Gonzalez! eepa, eepa!"
I lost in the big race, but I was really encouraged by Joe.
One time while talking to Joe I had the opportunity to ask him what sort of sage life advice he would offer me. His response was: "You want some life advice? Lose weight and shave."
