"Romance" is also understood as a literary genre of high culture, characterized by a style of heroic prose and verse narrative that was popular in Early Modern Europe. They were usually inspirational stories about the marvelous adventures of a chivalrous, heroic knight on a quest. Perhaps Sister Y was putting forth the hypothesis that Paul's letter to the Romans fits into this category of literature?
