- He is deeply connected to Berkeley, for that is where he spent his college years and beyond, ministering to many college students.
- He is deeply connected to Austin, for that is where he ministered for the past 5 years (and the student body has a deep conviction regarding football, and they bleed burnt orange)
- He is deeply connected to UCLA, for that is where he was born, where he took his first steps. It was also in LA where he learned to be a sports fan. This is also where he is planting the next Gracepoint church.
Now the question is: if Cal, Austin and UCLA were in the playoffs, which team would Pastor Manny Kim cheer for?

I cannot decide. I am just as deeply torn as Pastor Manny would be.
It's easy... whoever's leading
At the end of the day, I have faith he will choose his beloved Cal Bears.
I think Pastor Manny would root for Berkeley.. There is something very stubborn about P. Manny, where he would stick to the old, dying team with no hope just because he had been a fan previously. Look at how he has been a Celtics fan for the last 25 years. I think he chooses his sports teams not based on the team, but on the criteria of "I can't switch loyalties now, I would never hear the end of it."
So he will stick with Berkeley, not because he actually likes the team, but because he would know that if he ever switched, he would never hear the end of it. Perhaps only on his deathbed would he reveal which team he actually rooted for in his heart.
It has to be LA - that's where he was born! How else will Pastor Manny for deep relationships with the UCLA students?
Pastor Manny will not abandon the California Golden Bears.
Go Bears!
his only true loyalty is to the boston celtics. in terms of college teams, he'll root for all 3. it's one the greatest mysteries of life...up there with the loch ness monster.
If he knew what was good for him, he'd choose Austin. As the song goes, "The eyes of Texas are upon you!
When we ponder the Holy Trinity, we marvel at how God could be Father, Son and Holy Spirit all at once. We don't understand it, but we accept it. So it is with Pastor Manny...
Pastor Manny will stick with the Berkeley Bears!
